Cleaners SW17 Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is made by Cleaners SW17 in respect of the financial year ending 31 December. It sets out the steps taken to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. Cleaners SW17 is committed to conducting business responsibly, transparently, and in full respect of human rights.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
Cleaners SW17 maintains a clear and unequivocal zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, forced labour, child labour, servitude, and human trafficking. We will not knowingly engage with, support, or profit from any activity that involves the exploitation of people. This commitment applies to all aspects of our business, including the provision of cleaning services, recruitment and employment practices, and relationships with contractors, agents, and suppliers.
All staff, regardless of role or seniority, are expected to act with integrity and to support the prevention of modern slavery. Breaches of this policy may lead to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or contract.
Our Supply Chain Standards
Our supply chain includes providers of cleaning products, equipment, workwear, facilities, and specialist services. We expect all suppliers to uphold high standards of ethical conduct, comply with relevant legislation, and respect internationally recognised human rights. Suppliers are required to ensure that employment is freely chosen, that workers are of legal working age, and that working conditions are safe and fair.
Cleaners SW17 requires suppliers to confirm that they do not engage in modern slavery or human trafficking and that they apply the same standards to their own supply chains. We reserve the right to refuse to engage with, or to cease working with, any supplier that does not meet these expectations.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We apply a risk-based due diligence process when selecting and reviewing suppliers. This includes assessing the nature of the goods or services supplied, the geographic location of operations, the use of subcontracted labour, and any known industry risks. Where we identify higher risk, we will carry out enhanced checks and seek additional assurances.
Cleaners SW17 conducts periodic supplier audits to confirm compliance with our modern slavery standards. Audits may include document reviews, site visits where appropriate, and direct engagement with management. If concerns are identified, we will work with the supplier to develop corrective action plans with clear timelines. Where issues are not resolved to our satisfaction, we may suspend or terminate the business relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels
We encourage all employees, agency workers, contractors, and business partners to report any concerns related to modern slavery, exploitation, or unethical labour practices. Reports can be made to line managers, senior management, or through internal reporting mechanisms made known to staff. Reports may be raised anonymously where permitted by local law.
All concerns will be taken seriously, investigated promptly, and handled as sensitively as possible. Cleaners SW17 is committed to ensuring that no person who raises a concern in good faith suffers any form of retaliation or detriment as a result of speaking up.
Training and Awareness
We are committed to building awareness of modern slavery risks across our workforce. Relevant employees receive training on recognising signs of exploitation, understanding our zero-tolerance policy, and knowing how to report concerns. Updated information and guidance are shared periodically to reinforce our approach and responsibilities.
Monitoring, Review, and Continuous Improvement
Cleaners SW17 recognises that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. We monitor the effectiveness of our policies, due diligence, and training to identify areas for improvement. This Statement, and the measures described, will be reviewed at least annually by senior management to ensure they remain appropriate, effective, and aligned with legal requirements and best practice.
As part of this annual review, we will consider feedback from employees, suppliers, and other stakeholders, as well as any incidents or concerns raised during the year. Where necessary, we will update our policies, procedures, and training to strengthen our approach and to better protect vulnerable workers throughout our operations and supply chains.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement has been approved by the management of Cleaners SW17 and will be published internally and externally to ensure transparency and accountability.
